Since the last of our four children moved out, I rarely cook. Sure, I make my specialties for holidays and dinner parties but baking cakes always scares me. It seems to me that if you’re using fresh ingredients in a mostly classical way, catering a dinner can’t be a total disaster. Not so with cake baking! Baking takes something else, perhaps an innate talent, confidence or bravissimo! One tiny mistake and POOF, a total disaster.

Robert, who only bakes brownies, tells me that I don’t have to be a baker’s maven to tell you that we are offering what has been our best sellers for some 30 years and that we are selling these items as cheaply as we can.
